In heart and soul, I am a motorcyclist. I started on a bicycle when I was 2 years old and at 18 I swapped to a motorized model, a Belgian 350 cc two-stroke Flandria. A Moto Guzzi California 850 was my first real motorbike, very soon doubled with a same bike with a Watsonian Super Sport sidecar. Riding a motorcycle is heaven on earth; riding a sidecar is dangerous, is breathtaking, is fun on earth.

On a casual visit to a Harley Davidson shop, the boss showed me a picture of his next order, a HD Electra Glide Special Police imported from California, with all the extras on it: single seat, full fairing, siren, public address, special front headlights, tail flashing light on an extendable mast. I fell immediately in love and ordered one! That is how I entered in the Harley Davidson world.
From that moment on, I bought or received as a gift from my wife all HD annual limited edition HD collectibles, especially the pewter figurines and the fine porcelains.
Time has passed. Ten years ago, I moved from Belgium to Crete and with the greatest regret had to sell my motorcycles. Today I look back to those happy bike-years with nostalgia, but uttermost happy to have lived them. Time has come to get rid of all those relics, which keep me remembering that I was once a passionate motorcyclist.

On the beaches of Daytona, Florida, Joe Petrali reached the record breaking speed of 136.183 miles per hour. That ocean sand record still stands. To prove the power and performance of the revolutionary Knucklehead engine, Harley-Davidson headed down to the beaches of Daytona in March of 1937. A factory engineer showed up with a curiously streamlined Harley-Davidson machine. Joe Petrali was selected as the rider. Petrali and the streamliner rolled onto the beach on March 13th. When the sand settled, Petrali had added one more triumph to his long list of accomplishments.

From the beginning, the XR-750 has continued its winning ways, capturing more dirt track championship titles than all orther brands combined.

In the hands of the Harley Davidson "Wrecking Crew", the powerful KR dominated American Racing for nearly two decades. Pwered by the Potent 45 cubic inch side valve engine, the KR-750 dominated the American motorcycle racing scene. Introduced in 1952, with production running until 1969, the KR won spectacularly on the flat track. Year after year, the KR scored wins at the fabled Daytona 200 and was the first bike to average over 100 mph at the race in the capable hands of the late great Cal Rayborn.
